Hella Fresh to see what u all have done! ALL U PUT IN SERIOUS WORK that are the roots for all us kids on the block lookin to tell our story with a lens (and in other ways for that matter) and find a direction. Never been to NYC, but its on my list ... I gotta! When ever that day comes I would hope to run into u all and trip out on ur stories. For that matter would be super dope to have ur energy come out to LA where im rooted.

[...] Seis Del Sur, September 29, 5 to 7 pm: Head to the New York Times’ 15th Floor Conference room to get an up-close look at some incredible images of the South Bronx from six Boricua photographers who covered the area in the tumultuous 1980s. There will also be a panel discussion with the talented camera clickers that’s sure to reveal some interesting historias. While the event is FREE to attend, you must RSVP here. Light refreshments and food will be served (hoping there’s some yummy empanadas). This entry was posted in Hispanic Happenings by admin. Bookmark the permalink. [...]

DAVID: THIS WAS A HORRIFIC TIME, AS YOU KNOW, FOR WE WERE ESSENTIALLY BURNED OUT OF EVEN THE WORST HOUSING IN THE CITY. I'VE NOT SEEN ANY PHOTOGRAPHIC WORK RELATED TO THIS CRIME AGAINST US. I COMMEND YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS, AND HOPE YOU CAN RESURRECT THE FEAR AND LOATHING WHICH THIS COWARDLY ACT CREATED IN OUR PEOPLE.

WHAT WAS WORSE, AS YOU KNOW IS THAT MOST OF THE "TORCHES" WERE PUERTO RICANS LOOKING FOR A QUICK BUCK, USUALLY FOR THE NEXT FIX. BUT THESE WERE BUT THE GO-FERS, THE REAL CRIMINALS GOT AWAY WITH THEIR ARSON AFTER COLLECTING ON THEIR INSURANCE POLICIES.

THERE WAS GRAFT ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP, BUT ALL OF THIS WAS COVERED UP, NATURALLY.

I STILL HEAR THE YANKEE BROADCASTER OF A WORLD SERIES GAME AFTER A SHOT OF THE GLOW FROM A BURNING BUILDING NOT FAR FROM THE YANKEE STADIUM: "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE BRONX IS BURNING"

AND I'M A FIRM BELIEVER IN HE WHO SAID: "PUERTO RICANS ARE A DESPISED MINORITY".

WE NEED TO RAISE SOME HOLY HELL, FOR WE LANDED AT THE BOTTOM AND HAVE STAYED THERE.
